Since kicking things off in Greenbelt in August 2025, we have brought the documentary film Make a Circle across the state. MDAEYC, in partnership with GatherRound and other community partners, have presented the film at five screenings in four Maryland counties. The tour started at the Historic Greenbelt Theater, and continued through stops like the BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown, the Learning Tree in Baltimore, Anne Arundel Community College in Annapolis, and in Delaware with our colleagues at the Early Childhood Innovation Center. Each screening was shown with Spanish captions to make sure the film could reach as many members of our community as possible.
At the heart of every stop was the same goal: elevating the people who show up for children every day. Several screenings brought that to life with a red-carpet, premiere-night feel — popcorn, photo ops, and a room full of educators finally getting a night that celebrated them. The events included a panel discussion with educators and early childhood leaders from the region. Each event, in ways big and small, made space for our early childhood community to gather, reflect, and connect. Take a look through the photos below for a glimpse of the tour so far.
