Power to the Profession is a national initiative that seeks to clearly define the field and profession of Early Childhood Education. While we currently use the term “early childhood professional”, there is not an official field with defining characteristics and qualification standards that establish professional roles. Join us in learning more about the Power to the Profession initiative that focuses on advancing the early education profession to substantially improve outcomes for children and families.

From the beginning, Power to the Profession has been focused on putting the voices, perspectives, and experiences of early childhood educators front and center. In fact, one of the guiding principles of the Power to the Profession National Task Force is “The voices of the profession will lead our deliberation”.

The Power to the Profession Task Force is looking for your input and feedback on the latest draft recommendations, Decision Cycles 345+6 Discussion Draft 2. This document lays out an audacious vision for the future of the profession and a path to get there with recommendations focused on differentiating pathways, preparation, and compensation.

Right now, we need your voice! Join MDAEYC for a conversation about Decision Cycles 345+6. We will review the document together, answer questions, and collect your thoughts and perspectives to share with the task force.

Join the chorus with thousands of early childhood educators to advance a unified early childhood education profession. See you there!
